The focus of the firm is to collaborate with clients to produce a combined vision that maximizes opportunities, specializing in timeless architecture based on historic precedence and unique design solutions.
A singularly focused business is a simple goal, but incorporating ethics, originality, creativity, and excellent service made it much more. Think Cosmopolitan Japan serves as a focal point for design, construction, and a hub for all related processes. The firm has completed over 20 projects, ranging from small residential remodels to complex estates and storefronts.

Romain Dubus, Architect, CAD Specialist, Builder
Romain Dubus is from Normandy, France. He earned an Architecture degree as well as a Civil Engineering degree from Le Corbusier University at Rouen, France. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, CA to study, he worked in France on high-end residential and commercial projects. His experience also includes hands-on work in the construction field for several years, where Romain gained knowledge of how buildings come together structurally. He acquired practical experience working with his father, an interior designer, landscape designer, and renovator for the French Historic Monuments.
For over twenty years, Romain has been building and renovating houses in France, USA, and Japan for customers as well as personal projects. He currently has eight personal projects ongoing and three others for local Japanese customers.
Romain’s passion is space exploration and architecture, and he is your primary contact. His diplomacy and communication skills provide personalized service to those in the market for a "Fixer" or to build a brand new house in France or Japan.
Our Mission and Growth
As part of the larger Think Cosmopolitan family, our operations in Japan contribute to funding the Mars Project developing human habitats on Mars by the late 2020s.
Restaurant Ventures
We're pushing restaurant franchises with hands-on oversight. Highlights include our French restaurant in Osaka, aiming to be #1 in the city, and the upcoming Mexican restaurant opening in August 2025. We're seeking restaurant spaces in Osaka, Namba, and Umeda areas, with concepts tailored to the opportunities we discover.
Property Renovation
Property renovation is a key focus: We're actively buying abandoned houses in Osaka with cash offers, preferring Akiyas but open to any condition. We're always vetting and purchasing new properties, offering cash for anything interesting that aligns with our vision.
